The Gadget and Acceptence of technology

11 years ago in year 2000 I am studied at the primary school at south of peninsular of Malaysia. At that day the cellular phone is not as one of the gadget needed as today. I still remember my father using the Erricson T10 hand phone cost nearly to RM600 and Celcom prepaid card. At that time may father just putting his hand phone in the car dashboard. The phone similar with the flip hand phone and the screen is only like a green and black colour. After 2 years my mother also buy  a Nokia 3310 but her also just putting her phone in her cupboard. See the handphone is not the most important in their life. I believe the people at that time also do the same thing…

Now days if I forgot to bring my phone I willing to travel 30 minutes from the office to home just to take my phone. Maybe my thousand Ringgit of hand phone is valuable for me. But the main point is my phone has thousand important documents inside there. Amazing right?. The technology of handphone is not only storing document or entertainment only but its also on of the gadget that I use to communicating globally, reading email, reading news, Facebook and so more. It’s also include my office document, bank account number, my coming appointment and also my diaries.

Marshal Mcluhan sees the phenomenon from a few decades before as a global village. Maybe at that time the scientist not coming with the ideas that some day the human can interact beyond the geographical border. The Internet was created to the military usage create by US to communicate among the military base and now days the military also use the network as a weapon to attack. For example this is not possible to another country get our military information via Internet and make a research before we are attack. Another way the separate their propaganda through the network that we trust. I don’t want a see the new media now days as part of a war propaganda, but this is the time we try to learn how to use it and at the same time we protect ourselves from destroying our mind. That why we must learn and make a research to evaluate.

 From 1946 our history show how the media gave impact in achieving independence. The media act also show the power of media can influence people to change their perception. The rise of Utusan Melayu to fight against Malayan Union show how we must wake up and defend ourselves. Before we discus later in this topic we must look deep into our heart and asked ourselves….
